The Book

Ollie is an adorable multi-coloured octopus who is trying to understand his feelings.  This delightful board book takes us through a day where his feelings run the gamut and he feels overwhelmed by them.  Luckily he has a good fried, Stella, who is a starfish, and she assures him that everyone has feelings and its okay to feel the way he does. 

For Ollie his feelings are the result of cause and affect:  when a big wave entangles him he is surprised, when a big shark gets too close he feels afraid, when he feels sad his Stella wraps him in a big hug which made him feel happy, just to name a few.  Ollie is blessed to have such a good friend who tells him that  "Friends always feel good when they can help each other."  

"Ollie Feels Fine" can spark conversations about feelings and how they are natural and normal to all.  Kids will observe how Ollie changes colour to highlight the emotion he is experiencing.  The artwork is colourful, very kid-friendly and relatable. The story is simple and the message is informative and positive.  I highly recommend this book.
