Let's take a peek inside shall we?
My take on the book:
I can assure you right now that your kids will love this book. Anything irreverent concerning body parts or body sounds are always a hit with kids. They will giggle, they will laugh and they will want this book to be read over and over again because it is just plain silly and funny....the perfect kid-combo.
"I need a new bum! Mine's got a crack.
I can see in the mirror a crack at the back."
And so starts the journey for a new and improved - crackless, custom-made, tailor-made behind. But what does one do and where does one go to get a repair job or even a brand new model? This book will have you in stitches as this little boy tries to weigh all his options as to what would be the best bum to suit his needs. He very carefully sorts through what might be available to him such as colours, sizes, shapes, designs: arty-farty ? alien? fireproof? bulleproof?... and the list just keeps on going....all very clever and imaginative alternatives I might add.
Then the little boy makes a discovery which causes him even more anxiety. He notices that dad's bum crack is showing too!! Oh no, this might be contagious. Whatever shall he do?
Written in rhyme and with illustrations that off set the storyline perfectly this book is guaranteed to entertain and make your heart happy as you read along. If anyone objects to your laughter on such a saucy subject just politely tell them to ..... butt out!

Ross Kinnaird was born “at a very young age” in Hamilton, New Zealand, and he now lives “at a very old age” in Birkenhead, Auckland, New Zealand.
As a child, he went to many schools since his parents moved around a lot. He describes himself as a geek who rarely paid attention in class.
From the time he was very young, he always enjoyed drawing. After high school, he went to art college to learn about illustration and design. He credits some of the really talented people there with serving as his inspiration. Envious of their abilities, Ross tried his best to get as good or better than they were.
Ross has illustrated about a dozen books for children. When asked how he comes up with his ideas, he replies that he sits in a bath of warm lemonade with a frozen chicken on his head!
The thing he enjoys most about being an illustrator is visiting schools to talk about books, and drawing funny pictures of teachers. He has been to about 150 schools and has spoken to thousands of kids.
When he’s not working, Ross loves to play music and sit in a little boat for hours feeding fish small bits of bait until they are full and go home. He also loves to travel and has been all over the world, including China, Australia, India, Britain, France, Spain, and Morocco.
Ross’s wicked sense of humor is fully evident in the four books he has illustrated in the 50 Questions Series, the latest being 50 Climate Questions: A Blizzard of Blistering Facts (2012). His latest book with Annick Press, It’s a Feudal, Feudal World: A Different Medieval History (Fall 2013) showcases Ross’s quirky humor and attention to detail.
