"Sammy in the Spring" - a bookwrap

Every one who is fortunate enough to experience the fabulous four seasons can relate to the joy and happiness that Spring brings.  Spring is a grand announcement that finally the cold winter is tucked away and warm weather, outdoor fun and new growth is on its way.  Hurray for Spring.  It's my most favourite season.

About the book

Finally Spring has arrived and Sammy and his stuffed horse Hob can go outside to enjoy the warm weather and be more active.  They are set free to ride Sammy's bike, smell the fragrance of new blossoming flowers, wake up a family of hedgehogs from their winter hibernation, pet some fluffy newborn lambs and work in the garden, just to name a few.

Of course his BFF Hobs is included in everything he partakes in that day.  Finally, tired after of all the busy activity, they head back inside, wash their hands ( of course Hobbs washes his hooves as he has no hands ) and they munch on lovely fresh produce both very, very happy to have played outdoors once again.

This book is perfect for toddlers and shows the unleashing of Spring through a child's eyes.  It is a book with half pages that hide and reveal how Sammy engages in outdoor activities in Spring.

The illustrations are bright, vibrant and detailed.  Young ones will find them very appealing, full of activity, expression and engaging.

About the author/illustrator

Hi! I'm Anita. I was born in 1961 in The Netherlands. My entire life, I have loved reading. As a child, I could spend hours thumbing through books, looking at the pictures and hoping I could one day make such beautiful illustrations myself. I studied the images down to the smallest detail and made up my own little stories to go along with them. After high school, I took drawing and painting lessons in small galleries in my neighborhood. And I learned a lot from drawing and paintingbooks. But I also mastered many techniques simply by experimenting with them on my own. When my children were still young, I read them a bedtime story every night. I rediscovered that some picture books are real pieces of art. That's when I got the ambition to make my very own picture books. I was remarked by the jury of the Key Colours International Illustrators Award 2012. The book Whose Hat is That? was published by Clavis Publishing and every book I have made since has been even more successful.
