Editorial Reviews
“Bee Still introduces meditation practice to children. Beautifully written and illustrated, I think any reader will fall in love with this gem of a book. I know I did. “—Sharon Salzberg, author of Real Love
“Bee Still is a wonderful, much-needed introduction to meditation for kids. In a world where we are all feeling the pressure to go-go-go, Dr. Sileo masterfully guides us to consider instead slowing down and pausing, providing clear, simple tools to connect with our breath and quiet our minds. What a different world it could be if we all listened to his sage advice!” —Lawrence Rosen, MD, RYT, Pediatrician and Founder of The Whole Child Center
“Dr. Frank Sileo’s newest book, Bee Still, is more than charming, it’s important. In a world of digital overload, the biggest gift we can give our children is to teach them how to take five minutes and just be. Read this together and be enchanted, enlightened, and embraced by Bentley Bee and his posse of friends.” —Stefani Deoul, television producer and author of the award-winning Sid Rubin Silicon Alley Adventures
About the book
This delightful rhyming book has a message of calm and serenity to pass onto today's overbusy child. Bentley, an adorable honeybee, lives in a hive that is tucked in a tall oak tree. It is crowded, busy and noisy inside with no wing-room or place to stop and rest. One day the Queen Bee orders the swarm to get busy and...
"This sent them scrambling in a tizzy." All except Bentley who took a totally different path. "He chose to be patient and wait. He decided to look for a place to meditate."
Bentley flies to the shelter of the garden and selects a beautiful bright daffodil to be his landing pad. Once settled on the petals he closes his eyes and rests his feet. He then begins to drain his mind from all his stress and worry and searches for inner peace within.
The other forest animals are curious and wonder what Bentley is doing. He explains that he is meditating and quieting his mind. They too want to join in and learn how to relax and be calm. Everyone sits down, breaths in deeply and focuses on letting go of their negative emotions and thoughts. They learn how to find peace and tranquility within themselves just like their friend Bentley.
This book includes a Note to Parents and Caregivers with more ideas to help with the introduction of meditation in a child's life. The illustrations are spot on and well done and they greatly enrich the positive message of the book. I highly recommend it.

Meet the Illustrator
I have worked for many years as a children's book illustrator and always had a big addiction for stationery, I am now combining my passions with Sherbet Lane!
I live with my two teenage sons in Rayleigh, an ancient market town in Essex in the UK, working from my little studio at home. When not painting or drawing you can find me pottering about in my garden or out on long country rambles with my walking buddies.
I love creating all of these stationery goodies and am really enjoying the SherbetBox community it has created - I have a lovely bunch of people subscribing to the box who love to chat stationery and help me with new ideas for themes.
