THIS SERIES IS ABOUT FIVE REAL GIRLS, THE DISNEY PRINCESSES THEY LOVE, AND THE CLUB THAT BINDS THEM TOGETHER.

Nobody knows how to follow her dreams better than a Disney Princess. And that's what the Daring Dreamers Club knows through and through. Ambitious, talented, and smart, these girls found each other because they all had one thing in common: big dreams. Touching on everyday dramas and the ups and downs of friendship, this series will enchant all who are princesses at heart.

Now let's meet the DARING DREAMERS CLUB…

Introducing:  Mulan, Mariana, Milla, Zahra, Piper

Book # 1 focuses on Milla...

About the book

Disney's DARING DREAMERS CLUB is a middle-grade series about a group of ambitious, smart, and fun friends who are all united by one thing: big dreams! Book # 1 focuses on Milla and I love it's diversity regarding race, culture and family.

This group of 5th-grade girls are brought together at school to form an advisory group under the direction of a wonderful teacher, Ms. Bancroft.  She hands out personal journals to each girl and prompts them to write about their favourite Disney Princess and explain why that particular one connects with them.  Milla chooses Belle from Beauty and the Beast because she loves "adventure in the great wide somewhere" and that lines up exactly with Milla's hopes and dreams for her own life.

The girl's become great friends and in so doing they provide support for each other in their life choices.  Milla is a strong character that shows wisdom beyond her years and a lovely caring heart towards those around her.  I think this well-written, inspirational book will be a huge hit with this age group because they can relate to the turbulence and drama of securing friendships.  They will come to realize through perseverance and reaching out to others for moral support their life's journey will be much sweeter. They will discover that following your dreams with a little help from your friends can make those dreams come true.  I highly recommend this book and look forward to book number 2 - "Piper Cooks Up A Plan."

Meet the author

Hi! I'm Erin Soderberg Downing, and I read and write books for kids. I love writing (and reading!) stories that make you laugh, and I usually find inspiration for my stories in everyday stuff - my family, my dog, and things that have happened to me in real life!
I love to travel, explore, read, and be outside in nature. These are a few of my other favorite things:
Playing with my kids and my dog
Going out to eat at fun restaurants
Swimming in lakes
Sledding and skiing
Spending time with friends and family
Watching movies (my favorite is Elf!)
Napping

I've spent time as a waitress, a malt-maker, a tour guide on a boat, a book editor, a cookie inventor, a movie extra, and I also worked for Nickelodeon. Throughout my life, I've lived a lot of different places, including New York City, England, and Sweden. Now I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with my husband, Greg, and my three kids (a twelve-year-old and ten-year-old twins).
