About the book

This is a gentle board book that is perfect to share with your little one at bedtime or anytime.  It is a celebration of a precious  new life that has gifted a loving couple.

"Little You" features endearing rhythms and beautiful simple illustrations that are created with clean curvy lines, collage-like images and a calm soothing colour pallet.  It clearly expresses how the parents feel about their beloved child and the incredible joy the child brings to them daily.

The book is written with heart and oozes love.  The message will resonate with both the reader and the child long after the story is ended.   Both collaborators are of aboriginal Canadian descent and it is a dual-language book from the publisher Orca.  The original English text is paired with a translation in Plains Cree which is so fascinating to see.  "Little You"  is an introduction to invite little readers to explore other languages while reading their favourite books!

The last page sums up the message of the book perfectly:

"You are the birth of everything new
you are perfect
you are you!"

I highly recommend this book.
