Title:  The Tale of Peter Rabbit

Author and Illustrator:  Beatrix Potter

This book was first published in 1902.  Her main character, Peter became the world's first licensed character.  The illustrations are in soft watercolours and created by the author herself.  The classic story is still raved about today.  An adventurous, disobedient little bunny, named Peter ignores his mother's warning of danger and finds himself in a life and death situation. He gets stuck in the garden of the murderous, yes murderous, Mr. McGregor!  Valuable lessons are learned and consequences occur when he does not heed his mother's warnings.  Perfect life lesson for today's child too. Listen to momma!  This book is a must for your child's book collection.  Vintage at its finest!

About the Author:

Beatrix Potter revolutionized the world of children's books with the publication of The Tale of Peter Rabbit in 1902. Focusing on the animals of the British countryside that surrounded her, she gave the creatures human characteristics in words and pictures. She published over 20 books, and we've re-created almost all of them here, with coloring book renderings of all her brilliant illustrations. That's Kep, the collie-dog, in both the photo with Miss Potter and in the illustration!

She was born in 1866 and died in 1943. She has written 23 books all published between 1902 and 1930 and all are in the public domain in the U.S., i.e. copyright has expired.  That means you can find all her stories published legally online.  Her spouses name was William Heelis.   Her books continue to sell throughout the world, in multiple languages.  Her stories have been re-told in song, film, ballet and animation.  Various film adaptations of her tales have been released.

Book Review Rating:   How does one rate perfection?  10 for sure. (Amazing)

Read on and read always.
