Here Comes the Easter Cat - a book review

Hello everyone!  First let me tell you the answer to yesterday's book and author puzzle.

The answer is:  "Caps for Sale" by Esphyr Slobodkina

Today's featured book is:

Title:  Here Comes The Easter Cat
Author:  Deborah Underwood
Illustrator:  Claudia Rueda

About the book through an interview with "The Cat":

Narrator:  Hello Cat why are you carrying a basket of Easter eggs?

Cat: I hate the fact that the Easter Bunny gets all the love at Easter delivering those chocolate eggs to  kids all around the world, so I am going to deliver them instead.

Narrator:  Well look at you, you look very dapper and sparkly?

Cat:  Oh you like my vest and top hat?  The sparkles aren't too much are they?  I thought I would dress up and make a fashion statement as I did worldwide delivery.

Narrator:  Well, you certainly are doing just that. I especially like the top hat...good choice.

Cat:  And guess what?  I know it will be hard work so I have taken seven naps already to prepare and I am going to ride my motorcycle instead of hop like that Bunny.

Narrator:  Oh look I think the Easter Bunny is coming now....man he looks pooped?  No naps for him I am sure.

Cat:  Oh, oh what should I do?  Should I hide....oh,oh too late he spotted me and he's coming towards me holding something in his paw.

Narrator:  Look, he's offering you one of his chocolate Easter eggs, that is a lovely gesture.

Cat:  Thanks for the egg Easter bunny, you look exhausted.  Do you need some help, you still have a long way to go.  Here hop on my motorcycle and I will drive and help you deliver so all the boys and girls around the world will wake up to lovely chocolate surprises in their morning.  Ready?  Let's head off.

Narrator:  I just knew that Cat would be the kind that would help his new friend out.  Together they will make Easter a wonderful celebration for the kids and who knows?  This might become a yearly tradition that BOTH cat and bunny can work together as partners and make the world at Easter at much happier place. I wonder if Cat has any other dreams or aspirations up his sleeve?  Who knows? He's very ambitious....

Oh brother.....

The book is fun, quirky and you got to love the Cat.  He is very ambitious ( after his multiple naps) and the illustrations are cartoonish and full of expression and emotions.  Love, love, love this book.  Perfect to add to your Easter book collection. Enjoy!
