Egg-cellent Book Gifts for Your Little Bunny’s Easter Basket
by Dena McMurdieDena McMurdie
Dena read Jack London's White Fang in the third grade and has loved children's books ever since. She reads, blogs, and paints in North Carolina where she lives with her husband and three children. You can also find her at her blog, Batch of Books, where she writes about children's, middle grade, and young adult books.
With Easter quickly approaching, it’s a good idea to have some basket stuffers in mind, and nothing makes a better (or less sugary) gift than a book. Here are some of my favorite Easter books, any of which would make a great addition to your child’s Easter basket.
Ages 0 - 2
by Beatrix Potter
Chocolate bunnies are great, but bunny-shaped books are better for those still too small for sweets. Little ones will love joining Peter Rabbit on a fun-filled day of hopping in the woods in this shaped board book introduction to the classic tale.
by Jan Brett
This beloved Easter tale is now available in board book format for baby bookworms to enjoy. Jan Brett’s story of a lovable bunny who displays remarkable kindness offers a great message for the season and the gorgeous illustrations are sure to enchant.

This lift-the-flap, touch-and-feel board book sends babies on a quest to find the fuzzy bunny on the cover. Tiny readers will love looking at the photos of other babies with their toys and lifting the flaps to check if Hoppity Hop Bunny is hiding under them. This interactive read is one that little ones will want to explore again and again.

Duck and Goose are back again and ready to celebrate spring. They’re determined to find the Easter Bunny, and have some thoughts (of course) on how to do it. But can they succeed?
