The Book
Robert wants to bake the the biggest cake ever - the best in the whole wide world! He creates wonderful invitations to distribute but alas a wind blows through his window, scoops them up and off they go. Oh my! Did that deter his mission? No way! His dad helps him assemble the monster cake and Robert and his dog Mopsi decorate it from top to bottom. Perfect!
Just as he and his dad are taking their first bite the door bell rings. Now who on earth could be on the other side? The two get the surprise of their life - one that sends them off to the kitchen to make even a bigger cake. Robert's cake is certainly in demand and he will deliver.
The illustrations are delightful, full of humour, colourful, with lots of detail. I love them. The story, although preposterous, will please kids of all ages. It's a very fun read. The book is a celebration of sharing and community. I highly recommend it.
