The Book

This is a delightful rhyming book that kids will love.  It stars a grandpa, a grandson, Sparks the dog, and a determined honey-loving bee.  The story is told through the eyes of the grandson.

Every morning at seven o' three the day begins.  Grandpa puts in his pretend teeth, kneels to pray, stretches out his back, makes a cup of tea and it's day on... out to the porch he goes.  This is where the fun begins.  A war ensues between Grandpa and a pesky bee who is determined to share that delicious cup of tea that Grandpa is holding.

Poor Grandpa, try as he might that warrior bee will not give up the fight.  After many attempts to eradicate the intruder his wise grandson comes up with the perfect solution.  I love that the boy is the problem solver and superhero of the day.  The illustrations are bold and beautiful and hilarious. The story will make kids laugh and return again again to enjoy this fun story.  I highly recommend this book.

Meet the Author

TRAVIS PEAGLER is a very unique individual, from being the youngest of seven kids, raised partially in low-income apartments on the east side of Dayton, OH until the age of nine. Humble beginnings in growing in a somewhat multi-racial neighborhood gave Travis an inimitable perspective on life at a very young age.

His imagination has always been his outlet. Thinking back to grade school when he was in an uncomfortable situation or when he didn’t handle a conflict well, Travis would always replay the scene back in his mind where things played out the

way he wished. An innate defense mechanism, he assumes. But, that’s when he discovered that he was a quick thinker and could really make up some cool stories, with his wild and vivid imagination. Slowly, he began to embrace this wonderful gift of mastering words, and creating stories and make-believe characters.

Travis loves telling original stories; something he truly

feels has been lacking since the 80s and early 90s, in his opinion. There are so many great stories, floating around in the atmosphere, that are yet to be told. His aim is to catch as many as he can and share them with the world.

On a professional level, Travis is a Military Veteran and

has worked in the finance industry for almost ten years. He has two kids and has been married for 14 years. With any free time, Travis enjoys lifting weights, dancing with his daughter, playing games with his son, and going to the movies with his wife. Travis has resided in Indianapolis, IN with his family for

13 years. (less)
