Unwrapping Some Illustrations for You
The Book
Yossi Lapid has once again created a delightful book to include with the other amazing books in his "Snowman Paul" series. Spring has arrived and Snowman Paul is convinced that he can win the Easter Egg Painting Contest. Finally he persuades Miss Hen to relinquish one of her eggs, which has dropped out of her nest, and she reluctantly agrees. Paul embraces the egg and knows it's a perfect specimen to win.
His friend Dan takes one look at the egg and deems it far from adequate to win a contest. After all it's cracked and he can actually see the yolk so there is no way that ugly thing is going to win!
Paul has a totally different opinion when he looks at. He sees its possibilities and its unique beauty. I love how Dan supports his friend after he thinks about it all through the night and decides it's the right thing to do. They work on the project together. Will Paul's vision bring him victory and his beloved egg win the contest?
This beautifully illustrated rhyming book with its simple story is perfect for early readers. My favourite illustration is Miss Hen's expression when Snowman Paul is trying to confiscate her precious egg. It truly is the best. It made me laugh. Both young and old will love the book I'm sure. I highly recommend it along with all the other books in series. Quality life lessons to teach kids.

Website
For a long time I was working as a graphic designer and 3D modeller, I have also written myself or translated from English a bunch of books about graphic software, all published by Helion S.A. Finally I got a bit tired with computers, so I returned to creating pictures in traditional way: paper, pencils and paints. Now I work as children's books illustrator; computer is still useful, but not my main tool anymore. I feel this is a good change!
