The Book
This is a sweet imaginative Christmas story that kid's will love. How does Santa know exactly what to bring to a child on Christmas? Well this lovely book just may have the answer.
Each year a child's favourite toy undertakes a secret mission to visit the North Pole to inform Santa what their child's most cherished Christmas wish is. Think about it for a moment... who else could harbour that confidential information better than a cuddly, snuggly, toy buddy? As the long journey progresses the toys are joined by others from all around the world. The secret agents walk and chat together about the year that was.
This magical story is delightful and the illustrations are soft and dreamy making this book a perfect bedtime story to share during the busy holiday season. I highly recommend it.

Meet the Author
Genevieve Godbout lives in Montreal where she works as a children’s book and fashion illustrator. She studied traditional animation in Montreal and at the prestigious school of “Gobelins” in Paris. Genevieve was born and raised in Quebec, but spent 7 years in London, UK, after her stay in France. Some of her clients include The Walt Disney Company, Chronicle, Tundra, Random House, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, les éditions Milan, Comme des Géants, and La Pastèque. She also illustrates for clothing designers like Nadinoo and Mrs.Pomeranz creating illustrations and prints for their collections. Her children’s books include When Santa Was a Baby (Tundra Book) and Rose à petits Pois (La Pastèque).
About the Illustrator
Having grown up in the Quebec countryside, the appeal of big cities came early for Geneviève Godbout. Armed with her multicoloured pencils, she leaves aged 16 to study traditional animation at the Cégep du Vieux Montréal. Three years later, she continues her training at Gobelins in Paris.
Fallen under the charm of old Europe, she then lived in London for seven years working as a character artist for the Walt Disney Company. Thanks to her favorite mediums, soft pastels and colour pencils, the illustrator, now Montrealer, saw her career flourish the past few years. Her pencils strokes are instantly recognizable and her various publishers include Tundra Books, Random House, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Harper Collins, Comme des Géants and La Pastèque.
Geneviève’s work was selected for the Societety of Illustrators Original Exhibit in 2017, 2018 and 2019 for her books “Johnny Appleseed”, “Goodnight, Anne “ and “Apple Cake”. She now works on the sequel of her first book as an author “What’s Up, Maloo?” and a series of children’s books based on Lucy Maud Montgomery’s classic Anne of Green Gables.
