The Book

I love this book. It is a winner on all levels. An adorable quiet-loving snail is a party animal BUT he likes to party in his own style. His kind of party celebrates all things with order, quietness and calmness. His friends love to be loud, rambunctious and party-hearty! Oh my how will he ever get invited to their parties if that is how they act?

He decides rather than ban parties altogether he will throw a party of his own but do it his way! What will be on his agenda do you think?

Well, it certainly has to be a noiseless party and definitely include warm milk and lullaby lip-syncing. But wait? Whoever will come to a party like that? All of his friend like celebrations that are boisterous and rockin '!

Snail is at a loss as to whom he should invite. He extends an invitation to Stump, a fellow introvert! Happily his invitation is accepted. The two agree to create a like-minded party and together the two whoop it up shushingly ( I just made that word up) and they have a grand old time.

The illustrations are awesome and all the characters portrayed are wonderful. The message is positive and inspiring. Every reader is invited to join Snail at his party as long as they leave their "loud" behind. Will you be there? If you remember to Shhhhhhh! you're in... please come and enjoy! Meet the Author

NASEEM HRAB is a writer and storyteller, and the author of the Ira Crumb series, The Sour Cherry Tree, and Weekend Dad, which was a finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Awards. Her comedy writing has appeared on McSweeney’s Internet Tendency and The Rumpus. She loves improv and coffee ice cream. Naseem lives in Toronto, Ontario.

About the Illustrator

KELLY COLLIER was born in Ottawa and grew up in Toronto, Ontario, where she still lives with her husband and daughter. She has an identical twin sister and an older brother. As kids, Kelly and her sister drew all the time, mostly in an effort to "outdraw" their brother. Kelly studied illustration in college and is both the author and illustrator of the Steve the Horse series.
