Thanksgiving weekend is here in Canada!

The picture says it all. Is this how you are feeling? Well pick yourself up and enjoy this glorious Thanksgiving weekend with your family and friends. We often get so engaged in life that we do not have one more ounce of energy to give to anyone, not even to ourselves. This is a weekend to pull back, reflect and be grateful for the many blessings that we have (and we have gazillions.) Just turn on the t.v. and see what other countries are experiencing and realize your good fortune to live where you are. Giving thanks is not only right but it is biblical...give thanks to the Lord for He is good. Be thankful for your family, your friends, your home, your daily food, your kid's school and education and our democratic government. Customize your thankful list to suit your own personal life style. There are many great books out there on the market regarding this subject. Take a trip to your local bookstore this weekend and purchase one on this theme for your kids or head off to your local library to borrow a stack. Read about the meaning and purpose of Thanksgiving and be sure to include the very first one to give your kids s historical perspective of this holiday. Although turkeys and mashed potatoes seem to be what the media stress, having a grateful heart is the real meaning for the weekend. Celebrate with family and friends around an abundance of food to strengthen family bonds and show each other love. We need to teach our kids why they have an extra day off from school(not just to sleep in) and why the title "Thanksgiving" was given to this particular holiday. Throughout this long weekend meditate and express aloud to your kids why you are grateful for the great life that you have. Read on.
