About the book

This book is a follow-up to the bestselling "Art of Stone Painting."  It is a book that will inspire, ignite imaginations, and cultivate creative thinking and artistic skills.

The very talented author offers step-by-step instructions as to how kids successfully can choose some blank bland stones and turn them into works of art.  She explains how they can select the type and shape of stones needed, the paint and tools necessary and the best workspace in which to engage in this delightful activity.  She offers simple, understandable techniques to ignite minds and hearts thus becoming a master stone painter.

She displays a wonderful gallery of patterns:  animals, human faces and bodies, numbers and letters, plus images found everywhere in nature.  She features how stone painting can be used to play games and for storytelling.

The 96 page book is filled with amazing ideas that will get kids thinking, designing and kept very busy and happy.   It is a perfect introduction to this form of art and features bold, vibrant colours that kids will love working with (and adults too!).  I highly recommend this book.

About the author/illustrator

Sehnaz Bac is an artist living in a small city on the Adriatic coast in Italy. She studied archeology at Ege University in İzmir, then she had master degree on restoration and conservation at Faculty of Architecture. She worked at many different archeological excavations as archeologist and draftsman in Turkey with Turkish and foreign excavation teams for almost 20 years. Making technical drawings of smal finds in archeological excavations as fragments of pottery and ceramics, helped her to improve her skills about observing small details. Her curiosity and imagination inspires her to create detailed artworks. She loves to use bright and bold colors, very fine line drawings and stylized designs inspired from nature. Lately she is well known by her painted stones with the name of “I Sassi dell’Adriatico”, means Adriatic Stones in Italian. She began to paint sea stones after her completely recovery from a Lymphoma at 2009, then it turned to a passion for her.Paintings of Sehnaz, show a very different style, totally stylized figures and motifs with very fine details and a huge variety of colors. She shows her painted stones on www.facebook.com/ISassiDelladriatico and sells them on www.isassidelladriatico.etsy.com
