The Book

"Hey! A Colorful Mystery" is a delightful little book that kids will enjoy.  It is great way to learn or reinforce all the colours of the rainbow and beyond.  The book is very much like Leon Lionni creations with the style, the colour pallet and the expressive faces that appear on the creatures that live under the sea.

The calm ocean erupts one day when a mysterious rumour spins out of control that a great big monster is hiding in the deep.  Oh my!  The fabrication is passed along, fish to fish, and panic ensues.  All the terribly frightened fish rush to seek refuge in a HUGE dark cave but OH NOOOOOO the cave is really the mouth of a whale!  Is there any way these schools of fish can be rescued and the sea once again become tranquil?

Kids will discover different varieties of sea creatures, explore a variety of vibrant colours, and realize how rumours can be dangerous if left unrestrained.  The book touches on themes of friendship, fear, life and creatures that are found under the sea.

The author has included at the end of the book:  How to Create Marvelous, Multicoloured Mixtures!... * Primary Colours, * Secondary Colours, and *The Colour Wheel!  I recommend this book.
