Awesome book based on an actual kid's idea! The Story Pirates books are super cool! One half of the book is a novel based on a kid's idea and the other half is the Story Creation Zone which teaches kids how to write stories/novels of their own. If your child follows the prompts in the Story Creation Zone, they'll have written a whole story! Highly recommended!

Like the first two books, Stuck in the Stone Age and Digging Up Danger, this imaginative fantasy is based on an idea from a real kid! The story is also a jumping-off point for an introduction to the basics of creative writing. With the help of Story Pirate Captain Vincent Rolo and the Fantasy Creation Zone, readers can use this novel as inspiration to create their OWN great fantasy adventure!

Meet the Authors

Annabeth Robin Bondor-Stone and Connor Blake White were married Oct. 8 at the Riviera Mansion, an event space in Santa Barbara, Calif. Winnie Holzman, a cousin of the bride and a minister of the Open Ministry Church, officiated.The couple, both 29, met at Northwestern, from which they graduated, the bride cum laude. The couple are co-authors of “Shivers! The Pirate Who’s Afraid of Everything,” part of a series.Mrs. White is the daughter of Rebecca S. Bondor and Daniel W. Stone of Studio City, Calif. The bride’s father, known as Danton, is an actor who has appeared in Broadway and Off Broadway plays, movies and television. Her mother, a former editor in chief of Scholastic Classroom Magazines, is an educational publishing consultant in Studio City, Calif. Mr. White is a teacher and director in the Los Angeles office of Story Pirates, an arts education company that teaches children creative writing skills and turns their stories into sketch comedy shows.   They are also proud members of Story Pirates and are honored to bring Angie’s story to life.

Angie Ortiz is an 11-year-old from New York. Some of her favorite activities are crafting, painting, reading, writing, and cooking. Her parents moved to the United States from Guatemala twenty years ago and have always instilled value of a positive attitude and hard work in Angie and her three sisters.
