The Book

Squirrel is now a big sister and all the attention is shifting from her to her brand new sibling.  She fears that others will forget about her and she will be left in the shadows while the new baby will get all the praise and love from her parents and from those around her.  Squirrel's fears escalate even more as many of the animals bring presents for the little one and dote upon her, leaving Squirrel feeling sad and abandoned and yes, even unloved.

This is a common happening in many families when new members are introduced into it.  This book is perfect to share so when those feelings of fear and anxiety appear they can be brought forward,  discussed, and overcome.  The illustrations are very well done.  They are full of emotion and detail and visually enrich the storyline.  The book teaches a lovely life lesson that just because a new sibling arrives  the other family members are not any less loved.  Every family member is a cherished one. They are coveted and an integral part of the family unit.  I highly recommend this book.
