The Book
Lulu is an adorable shy little beaver who feels she doesn't fit in with the others. She tries hard to do all the things that the other beavers do but to no avail.
She is artistic, imaginative, and creative and every single day these virtues bubble up and perk inside of her. Being bashful she hides her longings and talent from her peers thinking they will not accept her because she is different from them.
Lulu loves the forest and its amazing sounds. At night when she is lulled to sleep she doesn't dream of logs or building a dam. She wants in her heart-of-hearts to be an artist. She dreams in colour and makes beautiful carvings in the tree stumps. But... then she destroys her artwork lest she be discovered. Will Lulu overcome her fear and self-doubt and bravely step out and do the thing she loves most?
This story is about following your heart and being who you are created to be. I love a book that celebrates ..... YOU! The illustrations are colourful and enrich the text. This is Bethany Gano's debut book and I highly recommend it.

Meet the Author/Illustrator
For over two decades, Bethany Gano has worked in the commercial arts - from production, to packaging design, to crafting brands, illustrations and, now, a children's book through her self-named studio. She holds two BAs (Art and Spanish) from the Lee Honors College at Western Michigan University. Bethany lives in Central Florida with her husband and three kids (who are all crazy about Lulu)!
