Praise

"Clearly understands the drama of sitting and listening when you are a young child. A puppy in obedience training is the perfect corollary to the experience of “failing” and, ultimately, trying again until you succeed…Quirky and saturated illustrations are a perfect accompaniment for our wiggly and disobedient heroine."—CM Reviews

Unwrapping Some Illustrations

The Book

Sally, an adorable playful little puppy, is starting her first day of puppy school.  She is excited and immediately discovers there are many distractions there as so many new things are taking place all around her.

She encounters many other puppies of all shapes and sizes waiting for school to begin also.  She meets a  lady teacher that she is unfamiliar with who gives her instructions that she is to obey.  Sally does not respond correctly to her teacher's commands  because it's way more fun sniffing things rather than obeying what she is asked to do.

After a lovely bowl of water at recess and some play time with the other pups it's focus time once again.  Class starts and Sally is instructed to "sit" but does she?  No..... she squats and pees!  Oh my! Will Sally ever get the hang of puppy school and finally achieve success?

Puppies mirror little kid's behaviours with their curiosity, energy and playfulness.  They both love to explore and learn about their world around them.  This sweet story will give confidence to young readers as they venture into the world to learn and try new things.

The adorable illustrations include a rabbit hidden in most spreads for a search and find activity.  I love the  book and highly recommend it.
