Pass the Torch

Make sure your kids see you and your other half reading. Make it a priority in your home to have books scattered around and accessible to grab and curl up and read. When kids see mom and dad modelling that behaviour they think reading and books are as normal as apple pie (if indeed apple pie is normal anymore). Buy a book and tuck it under someone's pillow tonight and when you have the special time before going to sleep have someone "discover" the treasure buried underneath the pillow or comforter. Find ways to surprise your kids with a good book. When you make reading a priority in your home everyone benefits, especially your little ones. Read on Mississauga.
