101 Things to do with Baby book review

  Good morning everyone.

Todays's quote is by Marcus Tullius Ciciro:

" A home without books is a body without soul."

Today's book review  is "101 Things to do with Baby" by Jan Ormerod.

This picture book is beautifully done.  It cites many positive examples of how a family can integrate a new baby into their life structure.  It has a sweet, positive message expressed in a very simple way.  The author gives snapshots of big sister helping mom out with every day activities all focused around little brother's well-being.

Your kids will grin over some of Baby's less endearing ways such as shoe-sucking, letter-eating and ankle biting! But there are also "Things to do" like playing peek-a-boo and borrowing Baby's basket to sleep in.

Ormerod has detailed each "Thing" with its own number making this a counting book as well.  Her limited palette illustrations are detailed enough that beginning readers have lots of contextual clues to read this book aloud to Mom, Dad, Grandparents, and yes, even to Baby.

My rating for this book is :  8 - Fantastic!                               (10 being the best - 1 the worst)

Read on and read always!
