Let's take a peek inside shall we?

About the book:

A creative, imaginative little boy named Andrew is busy drawing a treasure map when his mom calls from afar that a package has been delivered to them by mistake and belongs upstairs with his neighbour Louise.  She asks him to please deliver it to her.  Cartographer Andrew is so engrossed in his project he does not hear her instructions clearly.

Andrew finally discovers the huge box and just assumes it is for him.  What kid wouldn't?  He eagerly opens it and finds a talking stuffed elephant named Timbo.  Andrew is amazed and enthralled and he immediately bonds to the little guy and they become fast friends.  Together they go on high adventures, climbing Mount Kilamanjaro, crawling through the savannahs of Africa and explore the deep, dark jungles of Africa.

But alas, his dreams are shattered when Mom reveals that Timbo is not his to keep but must be taken up to Louise because Timbo is rightfully hers.  With a broken, sad heart, Andrew accompanies his mom up those dreaded stairs and hands over his now best friend to his neighbour Louise.

Will Andrews heart be broken forever?  Is there a way that a compromise can be reached for all involved to share and love Timbo?  You will savour the message this book sends about the importance of sharing and how kindness and consideration for one another can open doors to new friendships and adventures for everyone.

The illustrations are two page spreads that are beautifully applied.  They are big, bold and expressive and perfect to visually enhance the story line.  I love the colour palette chosen as it makes the illustrations rich and pleasing to the eye. I highly recommend this book for the positive and encouraging message it sends and the lovely, detailed pictures that are left for us to study and enjoy again and again.
