The Princess in My Teacup - a bookwrap

Musings by Sally Huss (today's author and illustrator)

Unwrapping ...

I simply adore the illustrations she creates

This book is written in rhyme and is the perfect bedtime story.  It is spot on for beginner readers and is age appropriate for 2-8.  It contains 35 colourful, expressive, illustrations that will warm your heart.  The book is a catalyst for conversation and a call to action.

What would delight a little girl's heart more than anything in the world?  Why I expect a visit from a princess would just do the trick.  This little girl finds the image of a princess popping up in the most peculiar places.  She mysteriously appears to her in her soup bowl, in a mud puddle, a sink, in her bathtub and even in her teacup.  Where did she come from and who is she?  Each time the princess has wise advice for the little girl. She talks to her about becoming a better person by extending kindness to others, by being grateful for the things she has and by helping others in very useful ways.

Did the little girl listen carefully to the princess's prudent words and take her advice to heart?  Where did this princess come from and why does she just magically appear and then disappear? Will the little girl's heart become more tender and loving towards others?

This charming book will make your little princess feel special and uplifted.  The book is imaginative, has a very positive message and possibility be life changing.  At the end of the book is a special Certificate of Merit for those accepting the challenges presented by the princess.  It is framable which is a fun add-on feature.

I highly recommend this book and lucky for us the author has written  a sequel, "The Princess In My Teacup Returns."

About the author/illustrator

I've been writing and painting for many years. At the age of 10 my mother very generously gave me private oil-painting lessons and provided me with crafts and art supplies to my heart's delight. School was only fun because there was an art class to look forward to. From the Bakersfield area where I was raised, I went on to study art at Occidental College before graduating with a degree in Fine Art from USC.

I took a breather from my art to follow a dream to become a tennis champion. From U.S. and Wimbledon Junior Champion to a semi-finalist in the Women's division at Wimbledon to later in life becoming a top senior player, tennis has played a major role in my life.

After marrying my husband Marv, a top executive with Hallmark, I returned to art along with writing, creating several lines of creating cards, clothing lines, ceramic lines, wallpaper for children, baby bib lines, purse lines and more. Presently I write and illustrate a King Features' syndicated, inspirational panel for newspapers called HAPPY MUSINGS.

Together with my husband, we developed a line of Sally Huss Galleries across the country in the 1980's. In the last few years I have devoted myself to writing, and of course, illustrating these books as well.

I continue to paint commission works for homes, offices, and hotels and offer many of my prints on Fine Art America. These include gift prints, prints for children's rooms and large contemporary landscapes.

I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy creating it.

Read on and read always!

It's a wrap.
