OPEN MIC Wednesday!
I am going to introduce you to a wonderful website that will inspire you to pass on kindness and love to others around you. Our world is broken on so many levels and if everyone sewed kindness and love what an amazing world this would be.
About their work in their own words...
"SpreadKindness.org is a California 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging individuals and groups to practice kindness in their everyday life. Our mission is to inspire, enlighten, and spread joy through the sincere kindness of our hearts and actions.
It all starts with you. You have the power to impact someone right now in a positive, kind way. Share a smile. Be kind. Pass it on.
We were formed by a happy family of five who are passionate about the power of kindness. We really enjoy getting involved in fun, thoughtful activities. You’ll see us participating in local SpreadKindness.org events, and helping others in the community and around the world.
Our greatest hope is that you will join us in spreading kindness to others. "
(COO and Co-Founder)
Mark’s background is in technology marketing. He holds a bachelor's degree in Marketing from the University of Kentucky, an MBA from the University of Arizona, and a trophy for third place in his ninth grade science fair. Mark joined forces with Maria back in 2001 when he was smart enough to ask her to marry him..
Mark is the proud owner of a hole-in-one, and has both literally and figuratively juggled flaming torches. In between doing what he does best (making the world a better place, and making things happen), he finds time to listen to music, play with the dog, do yoga, and root for the San Francisco Giants.
He has also perfected the art of staring blankly when Maria asks to spend the organization's money.

At SpreadKindness.org, Maria does anything and everything that needs to get done. Maria is the empirical proof that anything is possible. Maria is unafraid of change and is on too many social network sites.
Maria has an extended resume that includes dancing in front of Mother Theresa back in elementary school, waitressing at bars and clubs, network technician, software quality control manager, Systems Analyst, holistic healing practitioner, and certified hypnotherapist (whew!).
Maria can be found watching chick flicks and reading books about spirituality and positive thinking (though not usually at the same time). When nervous or anxious, Maria can be calmed with some ooey gooey chocolate goodies.
They are involved in KINDNESS PROJECTS. If you go to their website you will find tools to help you practice and spread kindness: card ideas, stories of how people reached out with random acts of kindness and kindness quotes for you to use. Here is a sample of their cards...
You can shop there also and buy wristbands and ladie's/men's tees. You can request cards to be sent out to you, the first 8 are free, but if you desire more they would appreciate a small donation to cover the cost of shipping. They would love you to share your stories with them on Facebook or via email as they delight in hearing stories from people who've used their kindness cards.
What an awesome idea! I think we should support their efforts and I am sure by passing on these cards we can bring a smile to someone's face and heart and make their day. Kudos to these fantastic people with so many creative ideas from Storywraps blog!! It's an endeavour that deserves a five-hug rating.
I put hours of work finding the best kid's books to review for you each day. If you enjoy visiting Storywraps and would like to donate something for my time and effort I would greatly appreciate it.
Go to the top of my blog on the right hand corner (above my photo) and please donate what you feel lead to give. The amount you donate and the frequency you donate is totally up to you. I thank you in advance for your support. I love what I do and appreciate any amount that you may give so I can make our community even better. Thanks a million!
Read on and read always!
It's a wrap.
