About the book

An excerpt from the book reads:

Imagination brings us together, stories, treasure hunts, travel, and laughter.
There is no limit to all we can see.  One idea will lead to another.
Just imagine the places we will visit, all the more fun because we're together.
So here we go!

This book is a celebration of imagination and creativity all centred in one's own brain.  It's a call to our kids to put down their technology and wake up their brains for playtime.  When it's awake they can then design fun personal adventures all on their own.  But wait?  Imagination is bigger and better if friends play along too right?

This tale stars four friends: 2 bears, 1 moose and one bluebird.  They strap on backpacks chucked full of props and follow a map they find.  They interact and share ideas creating life-long memories together.  They imagine they are dastardly pirates, float away on a boat discovering magnificent waterfalls and tucked-away mountain towns, fly high in a hot air balloon, find precious hidden gems as they go on a rock hunt, get muddy and dirty slinging mud at each other, ( love to do that one myself ) and excavate for tailbones and skulls of new undiscovered dinosaurs, just to name a few.  All these scenarios take place right in their own backyard which is a wonderful bonus.

The illustrations by Stephen Adams are truly beautiful and bring a strong visual component to the text. They are full of action and colour and invite the reader along for the ride.  Kids just fall right into the scene.  They join in the adventures experiencing that imagination truly is bigger together.

Hopefully the book will inspire kids to enjoy the magic of their imaginations and get them outdoors involved in creative, imaginative play with friends.  This is Casey Rislov's fourth picture book. All of her books are amazing.  I highly, highly recommend "Imagination Bigger Together".
