About the book

This is a sweet book from a seasoned wildlife photographer about baby animals eating.  It is the third book in the "Baby Animals" series and it showcases different species from around the world eating tailor-made food that will help them develop and grow.

The photographs are truly spectacular.  They are large, clear and crisp featuring each baby in its natural surrounding.  Underneath each picture is a short explanation of what the infants are eating and how they obtain their food.

Cleverly the author features first the name of the species and then the correct name for the baby:  brown bear babies are called cubs, koala babies are joeys, jackals are pups, penguins are chicks, and a cheetah baby is called a cub,  just to cite a few.  I like that aspect  very much.

I think wee ones will be mesmerized by the featured animals and informed by the read-aloud text.  I recommend this book and suggest that it would be a wonderful addition in a classroom or a school library.  The baby animals are simply adorable and the text teaches kids about animal behaviour in the wild.
