About the book
This is a wonderful book (and whole series) about correct behaviour and expectations in an unfamiliar social situation. Lou uses his trusty magic bubble wand to find out the correct protocol when he goes out to a restaurant with his family for dinner.
He discovers he has to patiently wait to be seated, for his server to bring him his food that he ordered and to wait quietly for everyone to finish their meal before they exit the restaurant. He learns that using his manners is very important.
"Lou knows that when he leaves the restaurant, it is nice to say, "goodbye!" to the server. He can also say, "thank you and have a nice day!"
And then he asks the question... "DO YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO?"
There are tips at the back of the book for teachers and parents on how to use the information in the book, and a short quiz to review what is learned along the way. This is a kid-friendly book that teaches important life skills. It is a book series designed to help kids master challenging social situations comfortably and competently. The books are perfect for those with a variety of developmental levels and learning styles. The "Lou Knows What do Do" series is an excellent read for students living with an autism spectrum disorder. I highly recommend this book and the whole series.
