About the book
This rhyming book gives parents an opportunity to open up an inspiring dialogue regarding the state of our world and our society. It relates how one person truly can make a significant change.
The simple message touches on racism, conflicts and climate change. It highlights the importance of showing love and acceptance to others around you and the importance of caring for our beloved earth... a place that we are all blessed to live upon.
"Our World is Cool" is simplistic, yet has a very dynamic message. The story is enriched by beautiful watercolour illustrations that drive the message of how living in peace and harmony can make a world of difference. It was inspired by Michele Obama's last speech as First Lady. It would make a perfect gift for children of any age and for expectant mothers as well. I highly recommend this heartwarming book that wins the argument (hands down) that YES.... our world is cool!

Meet the author
Giulia Ferrari is a Melbourne based writer and former teacher who now works within the fashion industry. Giulia is the author of 'Your Parents are Cool' - a book she dedicated to her daughter Alexa, which makes a humorous, relevant and honest comparison between life pre and post baby. Inspired by Michelle Obama's powerful last speech as First Lady, Giulia wrote 'Our World is Cool' to give adults a positive and uplifting opportunity to discuss some of the important issues in society today. Giulia wants 'Our World is Cool' to encourage children to do their part to ensure our rapidly changing world stays cool.
Sarah Hankinson, now a mother of two, captures the pulse of modern style with her classic illustrations, which pair soft splashes of colours and meticulous line work to portray control and impulse, form and silhouette. Her work balances light and dark to create elegant illustrations drawn with a harmonious combination of traditional and mixed media techniques. Some of Sarah's clients include Prada, Vogue Living, Harpers Bazaar Magazine, Good Weekend Magazine and Maybelline New York- Australia.
