GRINCH SLIME RECIPE FOR A HOMEMADE CHRISTMAS!

The kids will love turning a favorite Christmas book and movie into slime with this super easy Grinch theme! This simple Grinch slime recipe is perfect for little hands.

Recipe

* 2 cups of green glitter glue
* 1-2 cups of liquid starch

Method

Begin by pouring 2 cups of green glitter glue into a large mixing bowl.  Add a few drops of holiday extract if scent is desired.  You can also add additional glitter and heart gems.

Slowly begin adding liquid starch in small amounts and mixing until desired concisely is reached. As you mix the ingredients the slime will form.

Once the slime is formed remove it from the bowl and knead it with clean dry, hands.  After a bit of kneading you will have the perfect holiday slime!

Troubleshooting:

Is your slime to sticky?  Add a little more starch and knead.  Is your slime to rubbery?  OOOPS!  You added too much starch.  No biggie. Just add a little glue to your slime and knead it in!  Liquid starch can be hard to find in stores.  You can purchase it on Amazon.
SLIME TIP #1: KNEAD YOUR SLIME!

We always recommend kneading your slime well after mixing. Kneading the slime really helps to improve it’s consistency. Slime needs to be kneaded πŸ™‚

SLIME TIP #2:  MAKE STRIPES! Use red and green glue.

Stretch pieces of slime into long “snakes” and place side by side to create a striped effect. Keep in mid that eventually the colors will mix together.

SLIME TIP #3: TO GET THE BEST STRETCH, PULL YOUR SLIME SLOWLY.

How big of a stretch can you get?  Pull too hard and your slime breaks fast! Many times this is why people don’t consider their slime stretchy enough.

STORING YOUR SLIME

Slime lasts quite awhile!  You can use reusable containers in either plastic or glass. Make sure to keep your slime clean and it will last for several weeks. I love the deli style containers.

If you want to send kids home with a bit of slime from a camp, party, or classroom project, I would suggest packages of reusable containers from the dollar store or grocery store or even Amazon.

Reindeer Poop Poem

I woke up with such a scare when I heard Santa call...
"Now dash away, dash away, dash away all!"
I ran to the lawn, and in the snowy white drifts,
those nasty reindeer had left "little gifts".

I got an old shovel and started to scoop
Neat little piles of "reindeer poop."
but to throw them away seemed such a waste,
So I saved them, thinking you might like a taste!

As I finished my task, which took quite a while,
Old Santa passed by and he sheepishly smiled.
And I heard him exclaim as he rose to the sky~~~
"Well, they're not potty trained, but at least they can fly!”

Christmas is coming.... have lots of fun with these ideas!
