Unwrapping the story

"Horray! Hooray!
It's Unicorn Day!
When unicorns
Come out to play.
The most important rule of Unicorn Day is to have fun, fun, fun!"

And do Unicorns know how to throw a celebration! WOW!

In the woods where tall trees sway you are invited to sing the song of Unicorn Day, kick up your hooves and jump and cheer surrounded by sparkly butterflies as you slide down rainbows and have a braiding-hairfest.  How fun is that?  Cupcakes rain down from the sky and then it's GLITTER FIGHT time.  Oh boy can't wait!  Love to sparkle and shine!

Who can resist joining in and having a blast?  Uh oh!  An impostor is spotted. He's definitely not a unicorn. What do you think they will do?  Will they send him away and banish him from partaking in their joyous festivities or will they wrap their legs ( and hooves) around him, give him a group hug, and be friendly?

This excellent rhyming book explodes with vibrant colours,  animated activity,  joyful attitudes and is loads of fun!  Kids will delight in the energy and happiness that the unicorns share with each of the participants in a day set aside to celebrate who they are.  It's a book about inclusion, friendship and uniqueness.  Kids will love the positive message that I am sure will be contagious and be passed on to others around them.  I love the book and highly recommend it.

About the illustrator

Luke Flowers is an author/illustrator from Colorado Springs, Colorado. He has illustrated over 42 children's books since 2014, with many more titles coming in 2018/2019. Luke spends his days (and most nights) in his cozy creative cave illustrating and writing children's books. This has been his lifelong dream, ever since his grade school days. He's forever grateful that he can now share books he's helped create, that will help inspire kids learn to read and pursue their own dreams!

When he is not in his creative cave, he finds inspiration in strumming on a guitar or banjo, writing songs, and consuming a unique blend of movies, music and coffee. Of course, all those adventures can only be enjoyed fully with his wife and three kids where they live in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
