Unwrapping Some Delightful Illustrations for You

The Book

The "Lily and Milo" series books are perfect for wee ones with their simple colourful illustrations and their focus on language development.

Lily, an adorable little bunny, and Milo a too-cute tiny mouse take a stroll through the meadow and on their journey they encounter a variety of animals as they go.  They invite the readers to count the animals along with them.  They observe cows and calves,  sheep with their lambs, a mommy bird with her baby birds, a cat with kittens, a chicken with eggs in a nest , a mommy duck and her ducklings swimming in a pond, a pig feeding her piglets, a skyful of butterflies, and multiple fish swimming underwater.  I love the surprise at the end of book and kids will too.  Nope, no spoiler from me, read and discover what it is yourself.

I highly recommend this book as it is well-done both in it's storyline presentation and it's delightful artwork.  Who knew that counting from 1-10 could be so much fun?

Meet the Author/ Illustrator

Pauline Oud was born in 1963 in Hilversum, The Netherlands.
Pauline Oud has been working as an illustrator for over 15 years now.  After her graduation from art school in 1985 she worked as an artist and art teacher for a while before applying her knowledge to her first love; children’s books.
Before she starts working, she likes to start her days with an hour running to clear her head and think about her drawings. She likes to collect children’s books, because they give her so much inspiration.  When she is out of inspiration, she also likes to visit the Museum of medieval Art to stare at the books her colleagues have illustrated some 700 years ago.
She currently lives in Utrecht (the Netherlands) with her husband and her two children Roos and Walt.
