The Book

This charming ode to winter is expressed through the eyes of a free-spirited little girl who delights in participating in all that winter has to offer.  It is told in rhythmic and sensory free verse capturing the magic and wonder of the season.

Expressive word pictures are highlighted throughout the day such as:  pearls of snow winding around eaves, a pond that lathers up with snow, hills that are knitted with caps of snow, and pause - times to dawdle and enjoy winter magnificence... just to name a few.

The illustrations are soft and dreamy inviting the reader to appreciate all the pageantry of a winter's day.  The language is descriptive and rich.  It is a wonderful bedtime story to share no matter what the season.  I recommend this book.
