Editorial Reviews

"Super fun, super playful, this stunning picture book captures the youthful imagination and burgeoning independence of caped crusader SuperJoe. With clever comic-style illustrations and warm-hearted humour, it’s a timely reminder that everyone needs a reassuring hug from Mum sometimes" – Fabia Turner, Founder of the Jericho Book Prize and Book Reviewer

"Fantastic! The superhero cannon is a common one, so I was very excited to see a Black superhero portrayed. I think kids and parents will relate to the imaginative play and resistance of cuddles in this one" – I Have a Book For That

"A sweet story full of lively illustrations that shows even the mightiest of superheroes sometimes need a cuddle from their mama" – Glorious Reads

 The Book

This is a sweet story starring an invincible Superhero whose mission in life is to rescue tourists from dangerous tigers, harness runaway trains, and save people from collapsing bridges that crumble over out of control rushing rivers, just to name a few.  He is convinced that his nemesis, the Grey Shadow, is the sinister mastermind behind all these catastophes!

SuperJoe is his alter ego name and super feats he accomplishes.  Before he rushes out to his next assignment his loving mother attempts to give him a cuddle before he departs.  SuperJoe rejects her offer as he is a busy man and Superheroes DON'T do cuddles!   But when his busy day is finished, and he can't sleep,  he knows the perfect antidote...yep... a snuggle from his mommy. He tells her to keep it a secret because after all what would Grey Shadow think?

The cartoon illustrations are full of emotion and action that kids will love.  This fun story encourages imaginative play, friendship, and highlights a beautiful bond of love between a mother and her son.  I highly recommend this book.
