Unwrapping Some Illustrations for you

The Book

Sammy the cactus is an adorable little character that lives in the desert.  He looks around and notices that all his desert friends are mobile and can move around and play but he is sticky stuck in the ground unable to move.  Snake can slither, hawk can soar, Jackrabbit can hop but oh my, Sammy is rooted in the sand.  He is going nowhere!

Sammy is sad about his stationary plight and starts imagining what life would be like if he had been created in different forms just like his friends.

His buddies come to his aid and explain to him how important he is and all the wonderful things he IS capable of doing.  They remind him that God creates everything for a purpose.  Kids will be inspired and encouraged by this positive message that each person is unique and are designed just as God intended them to be.

This board book is written in rhyme and the illustrations are delightful.  They are colourful, creative, imaginative and engaging.  The book is short and the message is positive and powerful. All ages will benefit from its message. I highly recommend it.

Meet the Author

Jamie Ivey loves creating things that help people believe the truths about who God made them to be. She does this mostly through her popular podcast, The Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey, and through multiple books geared towards women. Now she’s taking this passion to a younger generation. As a momma to four kids, she knows the value in kids learning at a young age that God made them to be themselves! Her whole family plus two dogs live in Austin, Texas, and they all love to visit the West Texas desert as often as possible!

Meet Tama Fortner

Tama Fortner is a bestselling writer with more than thirty-five titles to her credit. As a ghostwriter, she has collaborated with some of the biggest names in Christian publishing to create inspirational books for children, teens, and adults. But her greatest accomplishments happen in a happy little home on the outskirts of Nashville, Tennessee, where she lives with her family and an incredibly lazy dog who doubles as a footwarmer.

I put hours of work finding the best kid's books to review for you each day.  If you enjoy visiting Storywraps and would like to donate something for my time and effort I would greatly appreciate it.

Go to the top of my blog at the right hand corner (below my photo) and please donate what you feel lead to give.  The amount you donate and the frequency you donate is totally up to you.

I also have added a new button... ko-fi.com/storywraps  Simply buy me a cup of coffee if you would rather.  That would be fun.  Coffee and blogging go together like two peas in a pod as I'm always brewing up something here on Storywraps.

I thank you in advance for your support.  I adore what I do and would appreciate any amount that you may give so that I can make our Storywrap's community more thriving and exciting.  Thanks a million!  Books bind us together.
