The Book

This is a busy, detailed - jammed book that kids will delight in.  Everyone is familiar with Santa but does he really work only at Christmas time?  The answer is a resounding .... NOOOOO.... he engages in amazing activities all year long.

"Santa's Year" is both a story and a seek-and-find book.  It also encourages eating healthy foods and getting proper sleep.  It is full of humour and fun and celebrates the life of the Christmas rockstar... Santa Claus himself.  I would have preferred the text to be a bit larger and the objects to be found highlighted on their corresponding page.  This book will be a hit with both young and old and a favourite throughout ( and beyond ) the Christmas season.  The artwork is astounding.

Meet the Author

Rik Peters is a Dutch author. No matter who you are and no matter what's going on in the outside world, his stories offer a space that's open for everyone. Filled with remarkable characters and unpredictable situations, there's always something unusual going on - but readers know that they're secure and welcome. Even if it's just for the duration of a story, his books are a place of safety.

About the Illustrator

Federico Van Lunter is a Belgian illustrator. There's beauty everywhere. Art, friends, and family: he always tries to surround himself with things that make him smile and people that make him love. And this constant lust for joy and happiness also shines through in his illustrations. Whether it's in bright colors or in dark details, in still lines, or in lively typography: he hopes his work encourages people to open up. To experiences, to others, to themselves. Because there's beauty everywhere.

I put hours of work finding the best kid's books to review for you each day.  If you enjoy visiting Storywraps and would like to donate something for my time and effort I would greatly appreciate it.

Go to the top of my blog at the right hand corner (below my photo) and please donate what you feel lead to give.  The amount you donate and the frequency you donate is totally up to you.

I also have added a new button...  Simply buy me a cup of coffee if you would rather.  That would be fun.  Coffee and blogging go together like two peas in a pod as I'm always brewing up something here on Storywraps.
