The Book

This heartwarming book will become a Valentine favourite I'm sure.  Max, an adorable little bear cub, takes a peek into the heart-shaped candy box that is a gift for his mama for Valentine's Day.  Oh the chocolate treasures that it houses look and smell delicious!  All those sweets are very tempting and Max decides to taste just one.  Oh my,  how does one decide which one to chose when they all look so mouth-watering and yummy?  Max makes his choice and the one chocolate turns into one more and one more and the little cub realizes that he has gobbled them all. The beautiful box is now empty.  Oh my, what has he done?  What about poor MAMA!

When he sadly reports his behaviour to Papa bear his beloved dad finds the perfect solution to his dilemma.  Young kids will appreciate the papa/son relationship and how the problem is solved as they work together to make that happen.

This sweet holiday story teaches kids about honesty, sharing, love, and kindness.  This book would be a perfect family read aloud and also would be an excellent addition to a classroom and school library.  I highly recommend it.

Meet the Author

Anne is a children’s author and child psychologist. In 2014 she won the International Book Contest by Inclusive Works and Clavis Publishing for her picture book What Can Your Grandma Do? During a stroll through the book store, Anne noticed that all books about grandparents tend to show them doing things such as playing bridge or knitting. And yet there are so many active grandparents! To Anne, family is very important. She’s happily married with her best friend, and mother of five active and sometimes aggravating children. Besides them, she also loves to eat, run, write and read.

About the Illustrator

Who am I?

I studied free and applied graphics at the PHIKO in Hasselt. Ever since my hands could hold a pencil, drawing has been my greatest passion. I like to convert stories into images, let images speak, make children dream of another world full of fantasy.

I like to combine making illustrations with giving creative workshops for children and adults at school and after school.

You can also find me on facebook and instagram as "Katrien Benaets illustrator".

Besides an illustrator I am also a wife and mother of 2 lovely children: Hannelore and Lucas.

Greetings

Kathryn
