Unwrapping Some Illustrations

The Book

This is a delightful book and Scruffy is an over-the-top adorable puppy!  His personal blanket is a must-have as he loves to roll around on it and enjoy the smell of .... himself all over it! Scruffy's world is a happy place when he has his security blanket!

One day he can't find his precious blanket and he takes it upon himself to seek it out and retrieve it.  After all it belongs to him right?  His sense of smell kicks into high gear and Scruffy is off to engage in a search and rescue mission.  He encounters smelly socks and tasty biscuits along the way but he remains focused on his goal.  Finally he discovers his blanket and also discovers that it no longer smells like him?  I wonder what made that change?

The illustrations are fantastic. They are kid-friendly, big, bold and colourful.  Everyone will fall in love with Scruffy and want to adopt and bring him home.  The rhyming text and playful language will have kids coming back again and again to enjoy this delightful story.  I highly recommend it!

Meet the Author/Illustrator

Lynne Hudson is a published author/illustrator and trained at Bath Academy of Art in Ceramics and then The College of Cartoon Art, mentored under the late Dave Fellows who inspired her to illustrate children's books. She has a fast-moving, comic-book style with an expressive sense of character and is a keen writer of rhyming stories. Her biggest writing inspiration has been Dr Seuss, and she admires the illustrations of Dick Bruna and Tony Ross. Lynne gets most of her ideas by observing the Great British public. She is often found pulling silly faces in the mirror, trying to find the right facial expression for her characters. Her ambition is to someday create a really iconic cartoon character. Thingamanose, published by Beachy books, could well be it!
