The Book

This heartwarming rhyming story is about a little girl who has so much love inside of her to give that when she unleashes it,  it magically regenerates giving her more and more to distribute everywhere.

This inspiring story documents the life of Kristi Dawn an adorable outgoing girl who lives in New York City.  The reader witnesses her sharing her love in many different scenarios.  She sings in her church choir,  helps out her neighbour by happily volunteering to pull up weeds, and sings a song to her mom in the grocery store causing her dad to sing along and others present to dance and join in her frivolity.  She finds sharing her exuberance and love of life is infectious and people catch her "love bug" and become lovey too.

She sees a pet shop with a huge sign telling her it's Pet Adoption Today!  Inside she meets a sweet puppy that she instantly falls in love with and luckily her parents let her adopt him to give him a forever home.  From that time on they are inseparable.  Kristi Dawn then learns the responsibilities of nurturing a pet and names him Thunder.  They become BFFs and share in all things joyful and scary that life presents to them.

The delightful illustrations are detailed, playful and engaging.  The message is powerful and life-changing... the more love you give away, the more love you get back!  This book would make a great gift for baby showers, adoption parties, soon-to-be older siblings, and dog-loving kids.  It is a meaningful way to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day, National Dog Day, and National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day.  It would be a lovely addition to a classroom or elementary school library.  I highly recommend it.
