This delightful book will have kids giggling and engaged from the get-go. Junior the giraffe just wants to curl up and enjoy his book in peace and quiet and not be disturbed. Unfortunately his five noisy siblings interfere with his mission. They decide to have band practice, sing ever so loudly, and even expel rude body noises which cause poor Junior's calm to be shattered.
Rather than getting angry with his siblings Junior uses his problem-solving skills and finds the perfect solution to his dilemma. His love of reading and his desire to escape into his book saves the day and his sanity!
The illustrations by award-winning author/illustrator Russ Willms are large, detailed, humorous and fun. The book is a wonderful celebration of reading and a perfect segue for discussing the importance of privacy and having respect for others. I highly recommend this book.

Russ Willms has always had a passion for art and fun. His work as an illustrator has been featured in hundreds of magazines, books and ad campaigns throughout the world. He is the author and illustrator of Elephants Do Not Belong in Trees and Who Will Pull Santa's Sleigh? He is also the illustrator of the Mr. Christie's Book Award Gold–winning and Governor General's Literary Award finalist Brewster Rooster. Russ lives in Victoria, British Columbia.
