Unwrapping Some Illustrations 

The Book

This book features Barnaby, a badger (wearing his beloved scarf)  , and his friends turtle and mole.  One night while out on a moonlit walk they come across some unfamiliar animal tracks and cannot identify them.  They cautiously continue their journey together to try and discover their source.  

The friends must show composure and bravery to each other to solve this mystery.  Could it be a scary witch or something dangerous that may harm them?  They discover a lighted hut and a huge, looming, indistinguishable shadow inside. Whatever or Whoever could that be?  Will someone in their group have the courage to go forward and find out what is going on?  

The illustrator has included another character that kid's can spot on each page as the friends to solve their mystery.  If readers look closely they will discover an adorable little frog from Barnaby's pond popping up as he follows the trio on their trek.  It is a component that kid's will love I'm sure.  The illustrations are fun and the book is about friendship, teamwork, and overcoming your fears.  I highly recommend the book.

Béatrice Rodriguez received her degree from the School of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg, France. Today she is a successful and prolific illustrator, creating children's books as well as illustrations and cartoons for the press. She lives in Nevers, France.
