Good Night Tahoe

by Kevin Sullivan

Illustrated by Michael Furuya

In The Author's Own Words

“I just want kids to enjoy reading, as I mentioned it’s kind of multifaceted just awareness of the beauty of the places that we live sometimes we take the paces that we live for granted, but I think as people are more aware of their surroundings and the animals in the environment, I mean hopefully they’ll have a greater appreciation for that,” Sullivan said.

“It sort of evolved, life is a journey,” said Sullivan, a part-time resident of Incline Village. “I started writing and publishing because I felt there was a need for a certain type of product. Something that’s fun and entertaining but makes you aware of the beauty around you.”

 Advance Praise

“Kevin Sullivan, author, and Michael Furuya, illustrator, couple alliterations and illustrations to take the reader through a dream-like journey. Join Lake Tahoe’s native animals such as Beddy-bye bear for a little boating or the coyote camping in Carson City as you get ready to drift away to sleep.”
—Ashleigh Goodwin, Tahoe Daily Tribune, July 11, 2022

“Good Night Tahoe is a children’s book that takes the reader through a magical land that really exists, Tahoe. ‘It sort of evolved, life is a journey,’ said Sullivan, a part-time resident of Incline Village. ‘I started writing and publishing because I felt there was a need for a certain type of product. Something that’s fun and entertaining but makes you aware of the beauty around you.’ Sullivan is both a writer and an educator has published several books based on Hawaii’s beauty. The goal of Good Night Tahoe is to raise awareness for protecting the environment, particularly the Lake Tahoe Basin and its flora and fauna. Sullivan hopes to kickstart families reading together while providing education on sustaining the land we enjoy now, for generations to come.”

Unwrapping Some Illustrations

The Book

This is a sweet bedtime board book showcasing adorable baby animals that are having the time of their lives in and around a beautiful place named Tahoe.

Talented author Kevin Sullivan and accomplished illustrator Michael Furuya partner up using alliterations and beautiful illustrations that introduce kids to local animals as they enjoy fun recreational activities.

The book is both fun and educational. It gives kids a glimpse of the beauty of Lake Tahoe plus a very unique way to learn the alphabet.

Sullivan hopes to inspire families to share books together while providing an educational component on sustaining the land we now love, and for future generations.  I love the book, learned a lot myself, and hopefully I can visit Tahoe myself to see these wonderful animals up-close and personal.  The illustrations are exceptional and kids will love them.  I highly recommend " Good Night Tahoe" .
