A crafty book today.....

Quote of the day:    " House without books is like a room without windows."   -Heinrich Mann

Today's featured book:

Title:  Jellybean Tiaras And Other Jewelry You Can Eat
Author:  Sharon Penn

Let's take a peek inside shall we?

My take on the book:

This book is perfect for a summer vacation read.  I remember as a little girl running to the local corner store and buying those candy necklaces and bracelets and savouring every morsel as I enjoyed the taste and the crunch.  This book will have your little princess in a state of ecstasy as she works through 24 jewelry-making projects that use candy as the creative building blocks.  The author has included easy instructions and photos so that the design and process is extremely doable.  Your little diva will be able to transform pretzels, jellybeans, gumdrops and other candies into wearable rings, bracelets, headbands, necklaces, and earrings just to name a few.

I think any little girl will love to read about and then create edible jewelery for herself and her friends.   She can use these ideas at her birthday party, a sleepover or even at the cottage.  Let's face it, an edible jewelry party with friends will be very awesome indeed and make her the most popular kid on the block.  Some of the projects will require some help from an adult but most kids will find a way to make their creations unique and fun all on their own.  The majority of the materials are edible, but sometimes string, foam, or other items are needed to complete the project.  These crafts will appeal to kids in the age range of 6+.  All in all,  have fun bonding as you create "bling" things to show off to those around you.  Go ahead....strut your stuff!!

Book Review Rating:  8 (Fantastic!)

Read on and read always!  Have a very good day.
