Daddy, I Love You

Daddy, I love you
For all that you do.
I'll kiss you and hug you
'Cause you love me, too.

You feed me and need me
To teach you to play,
So smile 'cause I love you
On this Father's Day.

Unwapping some illustrations for you...

About the book...

I loved this sweet book.  This unconventional, stay-at-home dad is the bee's knees to his little daughter and son.  Although he isn't  perfect by any means, he's just what the doctor ordered for them.

"My dad is not like other dads.

He isn't very good at mowing the lawn

but he's a genius at making mazes.

He never gets me to school on time,

but he always gets me there in the end."

This awesome dad is not good at baking cakes, (but he loves eating them), or fixing a leaky faucet (but fantastic making a bubble bath),  OR remembering bed time (but boy, can he spin a great bedtime story).  All these things make this beloved guy so endearing  because he spends quality time with his kids and loves them unconditionally each and every day.

The full double page illustrations, created from a primary colour pallet, are full of action and expression.  They ooze the love and the   bonding between the three making it very evident as you read through the tale.  The book is a celebration of dads everywhere who despite their flaws do a terrific job at fathering by just being who they are created to be... themselves!   This universal message is perfect for Father's Day or any day of the year.
