"My Bed" - a bookwrap

Every living thing, whether human or animal, loves that feeling at the end of an exhausting day when they finally can bring their world to a halt and at long last crawl into bed and just drift away. The book today is about that delicious feeling from a group of animal friends who decide its their bedtime.  I am sure you will enjoy it.

About the book

The author has created a lift-the-flap book that toddlers will adore.  Reindeer has come to the end of his day and desperately wants to curl up and get some well deserved sleep.  He tries to lay claim to many of his friends beds but he is always moved along because those beds don't belong to him.

He tries the mole and mole bunk beds but no they are not his.  He continues his search viewing different beds such as hammocks hung side by side where two adorable little mice are snoring away, a cozy fancy bed that he finds out belongs to fox, and a racecar bed where rabbit parks himself for the night,  just to name a few.  Oh my... will he ever find a bed for himself to sleep in?

Finally his friend owl, who is nocturnal, finds the perfect solution to the problem.  Can you guess what that might be?  After taking owl's advice, reindeer snuggles in his warmed up bed just as Mr. Sandman lures him away into Dreamland.

This fun book introduces toddlers to different animal's names and reassures them that their very own bed is the best.  The illustrations are colourful, sweet and expressive.  This book is a perfect bedtime read... shared of course cuddling together under the covers of your child's very own favourite bed.

About the author/illustrator

Hi! I’m Anita. I was born in 1961 in The Netherlands. My entire life, I have loved reading. As a child, I could spend hours thumbing through books, looking at the pictures and hoping I could one day make such beautiful illustrations myself. I studied the images down to the smallest detail and made up my own little stories to go along with them. After high school, I took drawing and painting lessons in small galleries in my neighborhood. And I learned a lot from drawing and painting books. But I also mastered many techniques simply by experimenting with them on my own. When my children were still young, I read them a bedtime story every night. I rediscovered that some picture books are real pieces of art. That’s when I got the ambition to make my very own picture books. I was remarked by the jury of the Key Colours International Illustrators Award 2012. The book Whose Hat is That? was published by Clavis Publishing and every book I have made since has been even more successful.
