About the book

This book is perfect for beginning readers.  It includes 28 unique words that are listed at the end of the book for your child to learn.  This reading skill of learning sight words which will extend their  reading vocabulary is woven into the charming story of a young girl who is pondering what it will be like to have her very own cat.

"If I had a cat, I would take it for a walk.
It would not want to walk.
It would want to lie down."

"The cat would want to play.
 I would want to play.
The cat would not want to play
with me."

Oh my, things don't seem to be working out with her possessing a cat.  Mmmmmm... maybe she should nix the cat ownership idea and settle on another pet.  Wonder what she will choose?  Can you guess?

This sweet book with kid-friendly, vibrantly coloured illustrations will inspire kids to engage in the words therein and... read!  It is a wonderful first step in having them acquire a lifelong love of reading.  I recommend this particular book and the entire series.
