From the author

"Just The Right Size teaches children basic concepts of big and small by putting all sorts of living creatures in odd oppositions. Did you know, for example, that a frog is small enough to perch on a lily pad? A hippopotamus is not (obviously), but he is big enough to scare even a crocodile away!”

About the book

This adorable book explores the concepts of BIG and small in a kid-friendly and understandable way.  The simple text contrasts a variety of opposite-sized animals perfectly.

"Did you know...
that a ladybug is small enough
to land on the branch of a tree?

A giraffe is not.

But a giraffe is BIG enough
to reach a treetop without
stretching its neck."

The book teaches that size should not be an issue.  No matter what your stature you are just right the way you are.  The illustrations are expressive and sweet making the book a wonderful bedtime story.  The last page sums it up spot on:

"DID YOU KNOW...
that no matter how small or how BIG,
you're always just the right size...

for a hug!

"I KNOW!"

Celebrate your size and who you are.  There is no one else like you... you are amazing!  BIG or small you are a winner!

Introducing the author

Bonnie Grubman, author of children's picture books, lives in Syosset, New York. This is what she says about herself: 'Once upon a time I lived in a wonderful little apartment with my mom and dad, brother and sister, pet turtles and a parakeet. On hot summer nights I would cool off on the fire escape with a stack of books and a flashlight. I loved reading. I went to Nursing School, became a Mommy and traded my Nurse's hat for a classroom full of picture books and inspiring young children who found joy and curiosity in everything they saw. Because of the kids and for the kids I've been writing ever since. I hope to continue to foster the love of reading and preserve the magic of childhood.'
