Every story in the "Bright Start" series develops and nurtures a child's emotional intelligence.
A toddler and her mom take their adorable dog Duke for a walk and experience many instances in their familiar world where gratefulness is implemented. Birds at a feeder are chirping, saying thank you for their seeds, a horse receives a carrot as a treat and responds with gratitude ( just to cite a few ), and the story culminates in a family group hug each thanking the other for such a pleasant walk and for the quality time they spent together.

Saying thank you when someone does something special nice for you help you develop strong, healthy relationships. I really enjoyed the book and certainly would recommend it.

Nancy Loewen is an award-winning author who has written over 130 fiction and nonfiction titles for children and young adults, including Baby Wants Mama, Do I Have To?: Kids Talk About Responsibility, and Scarlett the Cat to the Rescue: Fire Hero. She received a Distinguished Achievement Award from the Association of Educational Publishers for her Writer's Toolbox series. About the illustrator
Hazel Michelle Quintanilla is an award-winning illustrator from El Salvador. She has a degree in Graphic Design from Matias Delgado University in San Salvador and has over ten year's experience working with advertising agencies. Hazel has been passionate about illustration since childhood, leading her to master a wide variety of media. She lives in Guatemala with her husband and their three cute dogs.
