Goodnight Forest - a bookwrap

Hibernation time for the forest animals.  What is hibernation anyway?

To hibernate means to take a season-long snooze. ... Animals that sleep through the winter, like bears, squirrels, rodents and even some rattlesnakes, are said to hibernate through the winter. This word can also be used to describe any kind of inactive or dormant state, especially for the purpose of getting rest.

Unwrapping Some Great Illustrations for You to Enjoy

The Book

This delightful board book created by the author of "Goodnight Seahorse" is a wonderful introduction to hibernation as ten different forest critters prepare for "bed."

The illustrations are colourful and engaging.  The author has included at the end of book a segment:  "Animals of the Forest.  Some animals hibernate when winter comes.  They sleep until spring and wake up when it is warm again. "   It is a nice wrap up of the ones documented in the story and useful for identification purposes after the story has been shared.  A wonderful book to include in a primary classroom collection or in a school library.
